If you notice uneven wearing of your tyres, wheel alignment is most likely the solution. Hitting kerbs or driving at speed through a pothole can result in wheel misalignment. Poorly aligned tyres can affect road holding, increase fuel consumption and decrease the life of your tyres.

Aligning the front two wheels resolves alignment issues for most vehicles, but if additional work is needed a quote will be provided.

The goal of wheel balancing is to make sure the weight of the wheel and tyre is even around the axle. Wheel balance is checked on a wheel balancing machine that can sense a very small difference in weight around the wheel. To balance the tyres, tiny offsetting weights are placed at specific points around the wheel.

Any differences in weight around the wheel travel very fast around the axle, which can cause serious vibration. Unbalanced tyres put uneven pressure on the treads, and the tyres can get too hot and wear unevenly. Tyre imbalance can also strain the wheel bearings and suspension system.

If you are buying new tyres from us, we will balance the wheels for you as part of the tyre fitting service. If you would like to have your existing tyres balanced, please contact us.

If you have suffered a puncture or your tyre is slowly losing pressure, book a puncture repair with us and our team will inspect the tyre to see if a repair is suitable.

Tyre repairs are only permitted in the treaded area of a tyre i.e. the area that makes contact with the road surface – these are deemed as ”minor repair zones”. Repairs are not permitted in ”major repair zones” i.e. the sidewall or any other areas of the tyre.

Unfortunately we do not repair “run flat tyres” as it is difficult to ascertain how long the tyre has been driven on with a puncture or how damaged the tyre wall has become.
